Infinity force team

Big wins for Infinity Force from KU!

In a celebration of innovation and dedication, we shine a spotlight on the extraordinary students from our FutureMakers program who recently clinched impressive victories at the JKUAT Tech Expo. This remarkable group, composed of five brilliant minds, not only secured 4th place overall but also claimed the top spot in the Sustainable Energy category. Their project, aptly named “Infinity Force,” is a groundbreaking solution poised to transform the energy landscape and address the global challenge of energy crises. The Infinity Force team consists of dynamic individuals, each playing a crucial role in the success of their venture. David, the CEO, leads the team with a passion for innovation. Shama, the CTO, brings technical expertise to the table, while Daltone manages projects, Lady Adrienne handles public relations, and together, they form a powerhouse of creativity and determination.

The heart of their project lies in a revolutionary method of power generation called compressed air. Recognizing the exorbitant cost associated with traditional electricity-powered systems, the team ingeniously harnessed the weight of vehicles at filling stations. By implementing a bridged structure, they capture and store compressed air in receiver tanks, offering an eco-friendly alternative for pumping water and fuel. David’s inspiration stems from his father, a bicycle repairman. Seeking to enhance the humble bicycle pump, the team leveraged its principles to create a scalable solution. The integration of a diaphragm pump allows for the generation of large volumes of compressed air, enabling cost-effective pumping of essential resources without the need for expensive electricity.

The team has successfully developed a prototype, showcasing their innovative solution in action. With 25% of the journey towards obtaining a patent completed, the students have received invaluable assistance from their University dean. The project’s progress can be checked on their website: https://infinityforce.pythonanywhere.com.

Buoyed by their success, the Infinity Force team has set ambitious goals for the future. Eager to participate in additional competitions and secure partnerships, the team aims to globalize their impact and bring Infinity Force to life. This aligns with Sustainable Development Goal 7, addressing the global energy crisis. The potential to eliminate the dependence on electricity in the pumping industry not only promises to make processes more cost-effective in Kenya but holds the key to transforming the sector worldwide.

The achievements of the Infinity Force team exemplify the spirit of innovation, collaboration, and social impact that the FutureMakers program embodies. Their journey, from conceptualization to tangible progress, is not just a victory for the team but a beacon of hope for a more sustainable and energy-efficient future. As they embark on the next phase of their endeavor, we eagerly anticipate the global impact that Infinity Force will undoubtedly bring to the forefront of sustainable solutions.
