Kathleen Siminyu

Kathleen is a data scientist & Machine Learning Engineer who is the Coordinator for Artificial Intelligence For Development Africa Network. She us Co-Founder of the Nairobi Women in Machine Learning & Data science Community, and part of the deep Learning indaba Steering Committee.
With a solid background in Mathematics and computer science & having set up the data department at a startup, she’s conversant with a wide range of data-related tasks including data scrapping, munging, cleaning, analytics & visualisation, using data science to uncover insights, deploying ML models as well as building a distributed data infrastructure using Scala, Kafta, Spark, HDFS & HBase.
She is currently undergoing a Masters programme in Computer Science with a specialisation in Computational perception & Robotics at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
She also interested in Natural language processing for African languages & low cost hardware robots.
