It’s Woman Crush Wednesday and our crush for the week is Timnit Gebru.
She is an Ethiopian computer scientist and the technical co-lead of the Ethical Artificial Intelligence Team of Google.
She also one of the foremost advocates for the adoption of AI in Africa.
Timnit is a champion for diversity in technology and is the co-founder of Black in AI, A community of Black Artificial intelligence Researchers with the aim to increase diversity in the field of AI globally.
She also worked at Apple, where she developed signal-processing algorithms for the first iPad.
She earned her B.Sc, M.Sc & Ph.D at Stanford University. At Standford Artificial intelligence Laboratory, she was an under study to Fei-Fei Li on Computer vision.
