Sex shows at the nodes around week four of vegetative growth, well before any light change, if you look for the small pear shaped calyx versus a rounded ball on a short stalk. Photo references and timing notes for early identification are posted at https://potentthcseeds.com. Catching a male at this stage saves weeks of feeding something you will cull anyway. A loupe helps, since the difference at first appearance is genuinely small.
